surveillance swiping a police officer's hat, jacket and badge outside a courtroom. >> let's go outside to david, what does it feel like? >> reporter: it's cold out here, we have current conditions, but it will get colder. cloud cover showing cloud cover getting out of here. we'll see sunshine early, but the temperatures will continue to dip. a couple of hours ago we were at 37 degrees we're down to 30. down not low 20s in lancaster, reading and allentown. that colder air coming in from the west is in the process of descending upon us. the windchill is down, it feels like 17 degrees in philadelphia. notice the single digit windchills in reading and lancaster where the winds are beginning to get stronger and the colder air is already moving in, all the numbers will continue to plunge over the next couple of hours. here's where we'll be temperature-wise. by 7:00 a.m. i expect to be 25 degrees, noon, 23.

forth, that's you know when the wind gusts are picking up. you can see the cars have snow on top of them. take a look at this video, this is earlier from route 70. you can see a salt truck coming through there. i can tell you nj dot did a good job treating the roads both in camden county and also in burlington county on 38 and 70. we're seeing conditions that are not too bad in areas. in moorestown new jersey, this is overnight you can see the snow falling there on mairch street that's my -- main street, that's my hometown, i got to say i'm pretty proud. looks like a christmas card. you can only see less than a half of an inch. it's not too of a problem. we talked to people asking them how to prepare for the cold weather. how do you prepare for that? >> we bundle up, gloves, boots,

the west. here the temperatures are it's colder to the west, lancaster, 22 degrees, same thing in reading. colder air is in the process of dropping out of the west/northwest. philadelphia down to 30. a couple of hours ago you were 36, 37. the numbers are dropping rather precipitously. you could see what we call a snow squall a quick burst of snow in the 15, 20 minutes could put down a half inch of snow. if you're driving around and you see that you want to slow it down. obviously most of us will not see that it will not be the order of the day. in the lehigh valley i'll give you temperatures where i think we'll be for the afternoon. the highs will be higher than that, but that's behind us in the predawn hours. we'll go for a general temperature of 19 in the lehigh valley and feeling like the single digits down close to zero

with the strong winds. at the shore, cold and windy. in philadelphia, probably around 23 by noon, i think we'll be down closer to 20 later in the day and sun mixing with clouds, cold and windy. windy gusing out of the northwest at 40 miles per hour that will give us severe windchills. if you're heading outside today, especially after an hour or two from now, expect the windchills to be feeling like anywhere from 5 to 10 in the center portion of the region. a little better, but not great down the shore, 10 to 15 degrees there. 5 to 10 snerms of windchills -- in terms of windchills in the allentown toward the poconos. overnight the winds will be a problem gusting up to 35 miles per hour. brisk and cold overnight. as we get into tomorrow, the winds die down, it will be cold with highs in the upper 20s and windchills in the teens. overnight tonight, after midnight a band of snow pushes

through. warm air transitions the snow to rain starting down south and pushing up north. notice in the transition area we have light blue there's a chance as we transition from snow to rain south to north on saturday morning there's a period where it's icy. be careful even after the changeover to rain it might be slick on the roads for a while. in the afternoon on saturday we're back to clouds. there could be snow with the system friday into saturday morning, 2 to 4 up north. 1 to 2 in the metro area maybe a coating of snow down in delaware and south jersey. the rain will wash that away. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 23 degrees today that's where we'll be sitting at noon and maybe colder later onful -- feeling like 9. saturday, snow and ice high of 48 with drying possible in the afternoon.

what to expect later today. 23 by 8:00 a.m. 22 by 10:00 a.m. 23 by noon. the rest of the afternoon we'll slide closer to the 20-degree mark. we'll have sun and clouds, very cold out there with the strong blustery wind you're looking at windchills in the single digits most of the day, this is a very raw day, easily the coldest most uncomfortable day of the cold weather season so far. 23 is where we'll be at the best of times during the late morning and afternoon hours only in the upper teens in the northern and western suburbs and mid 20s down the shore everyone dealing with the single digit windchills. and then tomorrow looks like it will be cold again, but not as windy. late tomorrow night into saturday morning, cold air in place, precipitation making warm front on the way. we'll start out with snow because of this and get on the other side of this and eventually change over to rain. let's show you what it looks like on the models. after midnight friday night, 2:00 a.m., saturday, a lot of

area getting a band of snow, a bit more of that early saturday morning, you can see the warm air by 6:30 changing things to rain. the blue area would be the transitional zone where you get sleet and rain. saturday morning, the models are suggesting we change over to rain even in the lehigh valley. i would be careful as the snow changes over to rain there could be lingering icing. n afternoon we're drying. before the change over to rain a coating to an inch washed away down south. 1 to 3 around philadelphia and up toward allentown. poconos will have snow on the ground after the precip end and the rain occurs. 23 is the where we'll be for most of the day today and strong bitter winds making it feel like 9. friday night into saturday morning we have snow changing over to ice and rain.

upper darby, we have an accident here there are injuries with that accident. also in delaware county, wycomb avenue at price avenue. an accident where police told me a vehicle hit a pole. a pole is not part of the problem. it may take time to clear this. i talked to police in government, plymouth road, a single-vehicle accident someone hit a pole. we're getting these slick spots here and there. this is a picture i snapped on my way in in camden county. you can see how the snow is on the grass, not on the sidewalks, but a coating in the car. roads might get a slick spot, too. looking at the travel time a big problem on i-95, 55 minute ride from woodhaven to the vine, that's because of the disabled vehicle blocking the right lane at girard. we've watched that travel time grow significantly in the past ten minutes.
